Andrea van de Wetering, DVM, FAVD is the owner of Advanced Pet Dentistry, LLC and offers advanced dental procedures for pets including maxillofacial surgery, endodontics, periodontal therapy, and orthodontics. “Dr. Van” has had a focus on dentistry for the past 20 years and in 2009 she became credentialed as a Fellow of the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry. Dr. Van has been providing advanced dental care and “tooth saving” procedures for pets on a referral basis in Oregon since 2008.
Dr. Van received her D.V.M. degree at Oregon State University in 1991. She teaches small animal dentistry to third and fourth year veterinary students at Oregon State University. She teaches continuing education courses in Oregon, Washington and California to general practitioners. In addition, she lectures to local kennel clubs, Veterinary medical associations, student groups, and at national meetings such as the Veterinary Dental Forum.
She also has published numerous articles on oral surgery in the Journal of Veterinary Dentistry and has written the chapter on dentistry published in Small Animal Pediatrics: The first 12 months of Life by M.E. Peterson published by Saunders.
